Mrs. Tamara Jacoby
My name is Tamara Jacoby. I am the first grade teacher at Regina Academy at St. John the Baptist. I am a former student of St. John the Baptist. I attended first through eighth grade here. I earned my Bachelors of Science degree in elementary Education through Kutztown University. After graduation, I became the assistant director of the newly opened Big Backyard. A year later I was promoted to the director and lead teacher of all the programs there, including summer camp. Through my employment with the Big Backyard, I gained experience with children from preschool through sixth grade along with many other important skills necessary in a school setting. In 2006 I joined the staff of St. John the Baptist as the first grade teacher and I am now happily entering my 12th year here. First graders are full of joy and wonder. I am amazed every year at the growth I see in my students. They keep our classroom fun and exciting.
In my free time, you will find me with my family and friends. I have been blessed with an incredible husband and two wonderful children who bring joy and love into each and every day. If you see me on the weekend, it will most likely be at a yard sale. I am a bargain shopper at heart and I am always on the hunt for my next treasure, which hopefully will one day be featured on my favorite TV show, Antiques Roadshow. I find peace being in nature. There, I am happy taking walks, reading a book, or simply observing God’s marvelous creations.
